Jaeger LeCoultre Atmos clock in classic design, 1968 Switzerland Brass Year of manufacture 1968 Dimensions: H x W x D: 22 x 18 x 13.5 cm Description: Offered is a 1968 Atmos in a timeless and classic design. This model was produced under ref. no. 5800 from 1955 to 1984. Atmos V calibre 526 in a gold plated brass case with white dial ring and arabic numerals. Serial number: 263311 Year of manufacture: 1968 The Atmos V, like the Atmos IV, became known as the Atmos Baby. Its case is somewhat smaller and more restrained than that of the previous model numbers. With the production of the Atmos V calibre 526, Jaeger LeCoultre finally achieves its breakthrough. The watch is intensively advertised, especially in the USA. Large American companies are won as customers, who present their long-serving employees with an Atmos watch as a company gift for work anniversaries. In Europe, too, people are enthusiastic about the idea, as an Atmos watch stands for constant performance and tireless work. The production target of 1500 pieces per month is reached in June 1955 with the completion of a new 200 m² production workshop and the creation of 23 new jobs. Even though the production volume initially lasted only a few months, the professionalisation of production and the reduction of the cost price laid the foundation for the great success of the calibre 526, which was then offered from the 1960s onwards with various dial variants and well-selling special models. Condition: Flawless movement condition. Absolute accuracy. Very nice case condition with minimal signs of age and use. This model is illustrated in the literature: Jean Lebet - Living on Air p. 63
