Swiss gilt-brass with painted Swiss landscape oval desk clock A Swiss oval desk clock, made by Michel-Ange Plojoux, Genève The dial flanked by a painted Swiss lakeside landscape (signed) behind facet cut glass and has Arabic numeral. An 8 jours clock with balance wheel escapement The clock is numbered with 14105 and 1775 Marked with M.A. Plojoux (Michel-Ange Plojoux), Genève. At the back a rocaille easel. 1 screw is missing on the back and shows some traces of use The height is 7 cm, the width is 9 cm and 5 cm deep standing. The weight is 300 grams M. A. Plojoux was established at 30, Rue du Rhône in Geneva. He was a watchmaker of high precision, specialized in complication watches, and jewellery. He received two awards at the Paris Universal Exhibition in 1878, won a gold medal in 1880 and also took part in the Geneva National Exhibition in 1896.

    A large oval strut clock By Thomas Cole The case constructed from gilt brass and designed to be as thin as possible, finely engraved throughout, of substantial oval size, and supported by means of a fold-out foot, the outer frame with floral engraved border, the silvered dial decorated in conforming manner and denoting the hours in Roman numerals with blued steel hands, its centre decorated in foliate patterns; the movement with four turned pillars, spring barrel, steel balance and lever escapement and signed to the backplate by the retailer, also denoted on the dial's cartouche "Thos Boxell, Brighton," and numbered to the rear.
