French 18th Century Louis XVI Period Wall Mounted Clock Signed Boguet Le Jeune
About the Item
A stunning and most impressive French 18th century Louis XVI period giltwood wall mounted clock signed Boguet Le Jeune. The large scale clock dated 1779 is centered by the beautiful circular white enameled dial with Roman hour markings, Arabic minute markings, and lovely pierced foliate ormolu hands all framed within a mottled and beaded border. The elegantly shaped giltwood case displays exceptional richly carved scrolled berried laurel branches leading upwards to charming intricately detailed blooming flowers centered by a lovely fluted design set on a silvered background. Above is the impressive sunburst top crown with a beautiful face at the center with flowing hair and a berried laurel crown.
