Green Chinoiserie Chiming Clock with Matching Wall Bracket, Elliott of London

About the Item

A rare green Chinoiserie decorated bracket clock with matching wall bracket, by Elliott of London. Manufactured in the 1970's. The case and bracket profusely decorated with images of flowers, trailing vines, temples and scholars. The brass face with angel spandrels, silver chapter ring and Roman numerals, signed Elliott London. The movement sounding the hours and half hours on a bell mounted below the movement. In my experience it is rare to find a green Chinoiserie clock and this is the first example by Elliott that I have come across. It is also extremely rare to find a matching wall bracket. The relatively small dimensions of the combined clock and bracket make it particularly desirable. Clock: Height 10 inches, Width 6.5 inches, Depth 4.25 inches. Wall Bracket: Height 8 inches, Width 5.5 inches, Depth 4.25 inches. The Chinoiserie decoration is in very nice condition with only minor wear commensurate with age, the movement has been fully serviced by our qualified Horologist. Overall a very nice example of a Chinoiserie clock which complements any decorative taste.
