Indian Inkwell Peacock, circa 1950
About the Item
This vintage Indian peacock inkwell was made in the 1950s. It was handmade from thin sheets of brass bent, formed and soldered to take on the shape of a peacock. The back is attached to a hinge that opens to reveal the inkwell and compartmental drawers. The entire inkwell and drawer section also comes out for cleaning and additional storage. There is also an auxiliary hinged door on the tail of the peacock. Quite the piece!
