Vintage Scale Model of The 1928 Mercedes Benz SS in German Silver, Circa 1950
About the Item
A rare scale model of the classic 1928 Mercedes Benz SS (Super Sport) which was the fastest car of its time. Made entirely of solid silver, the chassis shows a vented & belted hood, rotating wheels, ‘bug eye’ headlights, reeded running boards, a rear luggage rack and textured convertible roof. The interior fitted with a steering wheel and faux pleated front & rear seats. The under-carriage modelled with an exhaust system and bearing impressed marks referencing MERCEDES BENZ SS, together with German silver marks noting .800 silver purity.
