Art Deco Lighted Airplane Globe by Weber-Costello, 1948

This wonderful globe was created by Weber-Costello Co. Of Chicago. This "airplane" version in copper, with the lighted body are quite rare. One reason may be that the globe is actually made of glass! This particular globe was created to update the post-war world map and add Israel to the community of nations. The condition is original, and shows minor wear to the copper finish, as shown. There are a couple tiny pinholes to the paper globe covering, but not really too bad. The globe lights with a simple pull of the chain. Light bulbs are changed by removing the top screw.
