About the Item

Unique and amazing workmanship pair of Arts & Crafts vases. The design and execution of this very rare pair of Arts & Crafts vases are of the highest quality, even by the standards of Carl Deffner (1856-1948). Responsible for many excellent designs during the Arts & Crafts and Art Deco era his top quality workmanship never fails to impress. We think it is safe to say that this pair is right up there with the best Arts & Crafts vases we have ever seen. The design of these vases shows that Deffner was incredibly artistic, but he must have also employed some of the best metal workers on the planet. We can't even begin to understand how they pulled it of to create these stunning vases out of thick sheets of copper only. If you look at the details and the connections then I am sure you will be as impressed as we are. One of the vases, at some point in time, must have fallen, because it has a dent in the 'mouth' and also one in the base (images 10 & 11), but as you can see when they are on display you will hardly ever notice these imperfections. They can be restored, but we decided to drop the price for this pair and expect them to find a good home soon. If you like these amazing vases then you will love our price.
