Antique patinated bronze figural thermometer of a medieval youth and his hound. Probably English this is an unusual desk thermometer with a hunting theme. Set on an oval base the standing figure of a hunter looks into the middle distance for his quarry. He is dressed in medieval clothes and wears a cap on his head with a feather in it and holds a hunting horn in his right hand. By his feet stands his lurcher hunting hound sniffing for scent. The surface of this vintage cup is embellished with impressive chased interlacing scrolling leaf and floral decoration, all on a matte background.
