Rockingham Treacle Glazed Stoneware Shoe Quill Pen Holder

About the Item

A delightful novelty antique Rockingham treacle glazed stoneware pen holder modelled as a shoe dating from around 1840. Modelled on a gentleman’s shoe the quill pen holder is of long shape with a slightly raised heel applied with two holes for quill pens. The shoe is decorated with a molded bucke and has a shaped heel and base and is richly glazed in dark brown metallic treacle glazes and is not marked. In good condition.
