Tiffany Studios New York Gilt Bronze and Favrile Glass “Pine Needle” Picture Frame, Model 947, circa 1905–1910. This American Art Nouveau picture frame by Tiffany Studios is executed in gilt bronze and opalescent Favrile glass in the celebrated Pine Needle pattern. The rectangular frame is constructed with an intricately pierced gilt bronze overlay depicting radiating pine needles, intersecting branches, and stylized botanical forms inspired by the natural world. The openwork bronze mount is laid over a single panel of translucent Favrile glass displaying soft white, cream, and pale amber tones with subtle iridescence, allowing light to illuminate the organic pattern while emphasizing the depth and delicacy of the metalwork. The harmonious combination of richly textured bronze and luminous art glass exemplifies Tiffany Studios' mastery of decorative craftsmanship. The central photograph aperture is enclosed by a finely cast beaded bronze surround echoed by a matching beaded outer border.
