Eccentric and interesting abstract sculpture of carved and hewn wood with curved iron spikes on one side and strips of wood on the other; atop a nicely integrated wrought iron base. By Washington, DC, artist Jennie Lea Knight (1934-2007). Knight studied with Ken Noland at the ICA in Washington, later teaching at American U., the Corcoran School, and George Mason. Her works are in the collections of the National Museum of American Art, the Corcoran Gallery, the Smithsonian American Art Museum, and the National Museum of Women in the Arts.
