1960s Jason Seley Welded Chrome Automobile Bumper Abstract Sculpture
About the Item
Abstract chrome car bumper art created by Jason Seley. Overall measurement is 27" by 14" by 12", base measuring 7.5" high by 8" in diameter. Unsigned.
Handmade from old salvaged automobile parts with original surface wear on the parts as pictured. In very good vintage 1960s condition.
Jason Seley (1918 - 1983) was active/lived in New York and New Jersey. He
taught at Hofstra College and NYU in the early 1960s and received his Bachelor of Arts in Architecture from Cornell University in 1966. In 1969 he received the Guggenheim award for sculpture.
Seley, who died in 1983, taught at Cornell University for many years and served as dean of the College of Architecture, Art, and Planning.
