20th Century Modern Abstract TOTEM Sculpture by Bertrand Créach

About the Item

Abstract Totem sculpture "Equilibre" by Bertrand Créac'h Material: Burnished sipo wood. Dimensions: H 200 x 25 x 15 cm. Year: 1998. Unique piece, signed. The "Equilibre" Totem sculpture represents an abstracted exploration of the mineral landscapes of Brittany and the balance of the rocks where Créac’h grew up. In his feeling emotion, vision deals with the physical spaces carved out by those experiences. The elevated geometric forms are symbolic of an infinite path and a spiritual mind. Sipo wood is a very large African mahogany (Entandrophragma utile) that occurs chiefly in the Cameroons and Ivory Coast and that yields an attractively banded moderately hard and heavy light to dark red or reddish brown scented wood.
