About the Item
Entitled "Dove," this bronze sculpture, by the revered Puerto Vallarta artist Ramiz Barquet, captures the bird's form with a fluid abstract style. It is signed "Barquet" and "Dove."
Barquet was born in Mexico in 1921. He studied at the Montreal School of Fine Arts, sculpted as a monk in Paris and Rome, then returned to Mexico City and married. Later in life, he took up residence in Puerto Vallarta, where his large public sculptures became landmarks.
