Our gallery exhibits media of various artists who work with both high and low tech component materials derived from life in the 20th and 21st centuries. Materials such as circuit boards, integrated circuits, chips, digital and analog components, tubes, drives belts, resistors, transistors, connectors, rheostats, potentiometers, gauges, analog and digital readout displays, gearings and a host of other component materials that are used to fabricate the items, equipment and controls of our daily life. Our pieces are wall hangings, wall and free standing sculptures and desk paperweights in various sizes. By shaping various components into art and design pieces, our artists shape a vision based on the materials that effect our daily lives minute by minute. This view of the 'stuff of life' can both summarize and separate the components of our lives into a meaningful vision of life and living among the components. They are all around us. By both mastering and controlling these component bits, we gain a better look at an artists ability to talk about the salvage, surplus and detritus of our society in all of its negative as well as positive influences. Clients have sent us components from their lives and ask us to shape them into art by refinishing and otherwise bringing new life to these components and make them displayable. A flywheel from a 1949 DeSoto; a rectifier from an old family radio; a mainframe from a 1960s computer that started a company off and running. All parts of our lives asking for preservation and objectification.
