Giampaolo Seguso, was born in Venice in 1942, known in the world, as “the Poet of the Glass” is, as we have seen, the son of Archimede of the old glassmaking dynasty of Murano; for Giampaolo workshop that does not become just a place for new creations but was and is a place of study of ancient glass techniques. The Garden of the Soul which represents a series of wall sculptures in wood and glass, whose play on perspectives is a metaphor of a couple’s eternal life, displayed at the Art Lowe Museum in Miami. His works have been displayed in various international exhibitions at prestigious institutions, including the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, the Museum fu¨r Kunst und Gewerbe Hamburg, the Musée Maillol in Paris, and are permanently shown at the Museo del Vetro in Murano, Corning Museum of Glass, New York and Chrysler Museum Norfolk, VA. Giampaolo lives and works in Venice, has been the subject of study and thesis of many University students and received an honorary degree from the University of Rome, he often holds lectures and readings for all kinds of audiences, which turn into lively discussions involving both poetry and glass, matter and spirituality.
