About

A work from the newly conceived "Hive" series, this sculpture by James Bearden is a visual delight. An organic plant-like form with a wonderful brutalist surface, the 12" round disk is a heavily worked composition that changes in opacity and transparency based on the viewer's vantage point.

Works by James Bearden (b. 1964) are held in many corporate and private collections from New York to California. He has exhibited extensively in the Midwest, and large outdoor public works can be found in Iowa and Minnesota including: the City of Clive, the Lowe Art and Environment Center, the Blank Park Zoo, the Iowa River Landing Sculpture Park and the City of Plymouth, MN.
Bearden lives and works in Des Moines, Iowa.
