Large Hivo Van Teal Lucite Abstract Sculpture, Miami, 1970s A large-scale clear Lucite abstract sculpture by American artist Hivo Van Teal, created in Miami, Florida in the 1970s. Executed in solid acrylic, the work features dynamic geometric planes intersecting in a bold architectural composition. The sculptural form plays beautifully with light, creating shifting reflections and dimensional movement from every angle. The clarity and precision of the material exemplify Van Teal’s signature modernist aesthetic. Hivo Van Teal (1936–2015) was known for his monumental Lucite works and is considered a leading figure in late 20th century American acrylic sculpture.
