PH Grand Piano PH170 Curated, Mineral Leather, White Oak and Burned Brass
Located in Copenhagen, DK
- All prices are listed ex works.
- 5-year guarantee.
- We regularly crate, ship, and install PH Pianos worldwide with full insurance.
This spectacular PH Grand Piano Curated Edition is the first of its kind. It has been created in collaboration with Stevns Klint Experience, a UNESCO heritage site located an hour away from Copenhagen, Denmark.
The materials and finishes of this piano have been completely customized to represent key elements of the Stevns Klint Experience geography. From the leather banding, to the type and finish of the wood, to the metal trimming on the case, this piano is very special.
More than Just a Piano- Finishes with Symbolism
The mineral-colored leather banding of this piano represents the Fish Clay found in the chalk cliffs of Stevns Klint. Fish Clay is the layer of gray clay which contains meteorite particulate, and is scientific proof of the collision 55 million years ago of a meteor with Earth, that ended almost all life including the dinosaurs.
Hand-carved beautiful ash-wood frames the delicate and elegant transparent lid, and all metal trim has been done in a semi-matte oxidized brass finish called Burned Brass. All materials and finishes combine to create an extremely elegant, aesthetically stunning-yet approachable- piano.
Stevns Klint Experience has provided four fossils from the site which have been set into the frame of the piano, making this instrument a true collector’s piece.
Original Design, Unique Customization
Designed by Poul Henningsen in 1930, the PH Grand Piano is an iconic design from Denmark that has captured the attention of art collectors everywhere. As a Curated Edition, this instrument is the first of its kind to use a piano action...

Askr, Unique Green Glass & Oak Unique Sculpture by Backhaus & Brown and Egeværk
Located in London, GB
'Askr' from the Glasskibe Collection is a unique glass and oak sculpture by the Danish and British artists, Backhaus & Brown and Egeværk.
The title explained by the artists;
“ASKR – ’ash’ (wood) in Norse. According to Norse mythology, Yggdrasil is a mighty ash tree. Yggdrasil is the tree of life, a world tree. Its evergreen crown reaches the sky, and three giant roots end in three different worlds. One reaches Asgård, home of the Norse gods; one reaches Jotumheim, where the giants live; while the third one leads to Hel; the subterranean land of the dead”.
The Danish town of Hundested is steeped in maritime history and richly from the Viking Age. It is the majestic imagery of the Viking ships passing that has inspired two of the harbour’s contemporary craft companies; cabinetmakers Egeværk and glass artists Backhaus & Brown. These two award-winning workshops have combined their masterful crafts in an innovative collaboration; namely a series of sculptures named ”Glasskibe” – Viking ships in hand-blown glass and carved oak.
Artworks from this collection have been sold to many private collectors but have also been purchased for the Vikingskipshuset, the Viking Ship Museum in Oslo and more recently, shown at the Danish Pavilion during the 2016 Olympics in Rio.
A unique collaboration in the truest sense, drawing on the skills of two crafts, based in two workshops and from two Nationalities, British and Danish.

Konge, a Unique Sculpture in Jade Glass & Oak by Backhaus & Brown and Egeværk
Located in London, GB
Fine cabinet making & crafted oak with handblown & cut jade glass combine to create this unique sculpture 'Konge' from the Glasskibe Collection. Created in collaboration by the Danish and British artists, Backhaus & Brown and Egeværk.
The title explained by the artists;
"Konge (King) - using the cover name Rig, the Norse god Heimdal visited different farms. During these visits, he made the ladies of the houses pregnant. His last visit was on a very wealthy farm, and resulted in the son Jarl. As a grown man, Jarl married and had his own children. His youngest is Konr the Young; who is wise, knowledgeable about runes, and lucky with war. Konr the Young – Konungr - became the ancestor of kings. The Norse word ‘Kong’ means “(distinguished) man”, and ‘konungr’ is a derivative meaning “of a distinguished family” ".

Located in London, GB
Fine cabinet making crafted oak with hand blown and cut glass combine to create this unique sculpture "Nornegæst" from the Glasskibe Collection, created by the Danish and British artists, Backhaus & Brown and Egeværk.
(Nornegæst is an old wanderer who, as a guest, entertains the king’s men. By his cradle, the three Norns had allotted him a glorious life, but one of them remarked that his life would come to an end when the lit candle by his cradle would burn down. The candle was thus immediately put out, and he carried it with him his whole life. Full of days, he one day lit the candle and dies as it burns down. He was 300 years old. A character from Norse mythology)
