Op Art acrylic octagonal cube sculpture by Vasa Mihich, circa 1995. The optical look is changed by rotating the piece and letting the light refract at different angles; there are literally hundreds of different looks that can be created. The Minimalist piece is signed and dated and colors are primarily red, blue, green and clear. Very hard to capture the beauty of this piece with photos; looks much better in person. Wonderful early piece by Vasa! #1381
Vasa Velizar Mihich was born in Yugoslavia in 1933 and is an American artist based in Los Angeles, California.
Vasa is an academically trained painter and was a professor at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in the Department of Design and Media Arts. He taught theories of color to understand interdependence and interaction of color and form, color and quantity, color and placement, and after-image.
