19th Century White Porcelain Statue of Ludwig van Beethoven by Scheibe-Alsbach

A late 19th-century German porcelain figure depicting Ludwig van Beethoven, produced by the Scheibe-Alsbach porcelain manufactory in Thuringia, circa 1890s. The composer is portrayed standing with crossed arms and holding a sheet of music, a classic and widely recognized Beethoven pose. #4972 The glazed porcelain figure exhibits refined modeling, with strong attention to facial expression, period dress, and draped coat. It rests on an integral rectangular base molded with the inscription “L. van BEETHOVEN” and bears the Scheibe-Alsbach crossed swords with “S” factory mark, confirming origin and period. Scheibe-Alsbach was known for its high-quality figurative porcelains in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, particularly literary and musical subjects. This example is well-suited for collectors of European porcelain, classical music memorabilia, or traditional interiors.
