An impressive and substantial 22.5-inch patinated bronze sculpture depicting an athletic male sporting dog / hunting hound (resembling a Labrador Retriever or Pointer) in a classic play-bow stretch. Rendered after Auguste Moreau and bearing the artist's signature dogs front side leg. At nearly two feet long, this dynamic bronze captures the eager, playful posture of a gun dog with its front legs extended, chest lowered, tail curled upward, and floppy ears framing an alert, expressive face. The smooth, short coat highlights its muscular anatomy, finished in a warm, dark chocolate-brown patina. Sporting / Hunting Dog (Labrador, Pointer, or Hound style) in a playful stretch. A 20th-century bronze casting executed after the original 19th-century French Animalier models by Auguste Moreau. Bears the cast signature MOREAU on the lower base.
