Early 19th Century Carved Lion

About the Item

Early 19th century hand carved figure of a lion holding a shield. The shield has a single bird over a carved ribbon with the phrase "In Unam Fidelis", which translates to "Loyal To One". The lion is in a sitting position and is perched upon a molded base. He has a lovely face with excellent carving in his mane.
