Emilio 'Elia' Sala Italian Animalier Bronze Turkey Sculpture with Tray

About the Item

Italian Impressionist Animalier bronze sculpture of a turkey made by Emilio Sala. The piece has a low tray incorporated in the base in front of the turkey and can be used as a vide-poche. Emilio 'Elia' Sala (1864-1920) was an Italian-born sculptor and painter who spent most of his working life in Kiev, where he collaborated on the architectural sculpture program for many public and private buildings, including the famed house with chimaeras. Incised E. Sala on the base, the piece is in great antique condition with age-appropriate wear and use.
