French Folk Art Owl Decoy - Bird Scarer, 1930s
About the Item
There is a great deal of rawness and authenticity to this 1930s French owl decoy. It is carved in wood and nail - upholstered with some kind of animal leather. Its eyes and beak is made from bakelite. The base has been added in recent times and has a great look still retaining its thatch and bark.
It was bought just recently at a fleamharked near Lyon in France.
Measurements: H: 48 cm (on stand), W/D: 12/12 cm. The owl it self measures 38 cm in length being slightly tilted on the stand.
