Pair of Austrian Midcentury Brown Glazed Ceramic Bear Book Ends by Anzengruber
About the Item
This charming Bear ceramic bookends have been designed and manufactured by the Viennese midcentury artist Leopold Anzengruber. Born in 1912 he founded his own company Anzengruber Keramik Wien in 1949 where he created his rich oeuvre, very well known to anyone in Austria. Since an exhibition and a catalog about his work in 2002 (Uta Matschiner) was published, his ceramics became even more popular for collectors.
The Bears have the model no 252 A/B in the catalog, designed in 1951.
They are in very good original condition with some minor chips on the base, please have a look at the pictures.
