Pfeffer Gotha German Porcelain Two German Shepherd Dogs
About the Item
A fine German porcelain group of two German Shepherd dogs by Pfeffer Gotha and dating from the early to mid 20th Century. The dogs are presented raised on a an oval shaped base with one dog lying while the other sits alongside both with their eyes fixed on something ahead of them with ears raised and panting. The dogs are naturalistically modelled and are decorated in brown glazes with naturalistically painted features with both wearing black collars. The base with printed and impressed number 5567.
Provenance: acquired in the British Art Market.
In good condition with a tiny area to the top of one ear where the glaze does not appear to have taken.
