Rare Midcentury Large Brass & Copper Lion Sculpture by Sergio Bustamante, Mexico

About the Item

A monumental lion sculpture by renowned Mexican artist Sergio Bustamante 1970s. The figure is modelled from an intricate welded patchwork of brass & copper sheet. Lion has glass eyes. No signature, but this is fairly common with the metal Bustamante sculptures due to polishing over the years. This large and impressive sculpture has signs of wear with patina to the metal, dings, and is missing a few toenails but is still an imposing & rare piece. The metal can be polished to a high shine- but I'll leave this to the discretion of the buyer.
