Vintage Highly Detailed Pair of Large Bronze Giraffes Late 20th Century

About the Item

This is a gorgeous large pair of bronze giraffes, dating from the last quarter of the 20th century. These life-like bronze statues feature two delightful giraffes, one with her head down in search for grass and one standing tall with head upright. Both statues are very realistic - they feature the typical short mane runs down the length of their long necks, and their coat is covered with a blocky pattern. Indeed, their heads are topped with bony horns, and their tails are tipped with a tuft of fur. Equally at home indoors or outdoors, this fantastic bronze garden ornaments of two giraffes could be placed to dramatic effect in many locations. Imagine having this lovely pair of bronze giraffes artfully placed in a garden woodland or perhaps as an arresting feature in a large vestibule or hall. Either way, the incredible attention to detail and fine craftsmanship of these fine bronze sculptures are sure to be a talking point. The Medici lions are a pair of marble sculptures of lions, one of which is Roman, dating to the 2nd century AD, and the other a 16th-century pendant; both were by 1598 placed at the Villa Medici, Rome. Since 1789 they have been displayed at the Loggia dei Lanzi in Florence. The sculptures depict standing male lions with a sphere or ball under one paw, looking to the side.
