Vintage Murano Art Glass Black Bird Mid-Century Modern, 1960's

Beautiful mid-century modern Murano glass black bird in wonderful vintage condition.
Mid-Century Modern Murano Glass Bird in the Manner of Barovier.
Beautiful Murano hand blown black Italian art glass bird dove figurine or paperweight.
This Murano glass black bird is unsigned but very nicely done.
The bird has a very cute face, and rare technique to the body.
It looks as if a combination of techniques were used in creating the gorgeous feather-like pattern on the bird.
A silver gray and black core done with balloton geometrical diamond pattern and bollinato bubble technique is then covered with a clear Sommerso glass .
The technique is called bullicante or controlled bubbles which were created in a cross-hatched pattern.
The beak and eyes were applied later in black glass.
Considerable skill is required to carry out this operation successfully.
This type of work was very popular in the mid 1960's or mid century modern.
Would make a great display piece on any desk, curio cabinet or side table.
It is in wonderful vintage condition with no chips, cracks or chiggers.
