Zinc French Butchers “Boucherie” Trade Sign, 19th Century
About the Item
19th century Zinc French butchers “Boucherie” trade sign.
Referred to as a Boucherie, this handcrafted zinc horses head sign would have hung above a French butchers shop. Advertising the sale of horse meat, now more of a decorative object and with this current example we have in stock the gold paint has worn away over time, to reveal a wonderful natural texture. Still with its hanging loops in place, this example would look stunning hung against a dark backdrop.
Size of inches approx.: H 20” x W 16” x D 15.5”
Completely solid in structure and form, with natural wear, loss of surface detail, the paint has worn away over years of being hung outside and this item has no cracks or dinks as many do. A lovely example in this form
We sell authentic antique decorative objects, we do not refurbish or repair items unless stated or unless completely necessary to the item’s stability or longevity. These objects are old so please expect wear and tear.
