"Ecce Homo Tesco" Sculpture, England, 2011

About the Item

"Ecce Homo Tesco" sculpture, England, 2011. Edition 3/9 by Shaun Doyle & Mally Mallinson, signed "Mally Doyle" We aren’t going to be drawn into a discussion as to whether it is Java Man or Homo Erectus or simply the missing link, but whatever your views, there is no getting around the humour (and inherent criticism) in this work by Shaun Doyle and Mally Mallinson. With horribly elongated arms, the result of a lifetime of carrying shopping bags, this piece is in no small way a condemnation of the crass consumerism that manifests in almost every aspect of life today.
