21st Century Raw Bronze Contemporary Sculpture, 'Emotion' by Margit Wittig
About the Item
This raw bronze sculpture has a natural golden brass finish. The female and male Giacometti-influenced portraits are individual objects and can be positioned in various combinations to achieve a unique perspective. Placed facing one another - a unified couple; backs to one another - the divided. The artist wants to remind the viewer that every person should be allowed to express their individuality and uniqueness.
Made in her London studio, the sculpture is heavily textured, a recognised signature of the artist.
Limited Edition of 9 + 3 artist's proofs.
Margit Wittig is inspired by European modern artists and sculptors such as Giacometti and Ivon Hitchens. She is a painter, sculptor and designer of lighting and occasional furniture, based in London although German originally. Her pieces are placed with collectors internationally.

Margit Wittig
London based artist, Margit Wittig creates bespoke lighting and occasional furniture. All pieces are hand-made and through her work Margit allows her clients to evoke a narrative to express their own taste and style in their interiors. Although the work is contemporary, it is often blended into classically styled interiors. Margit’s work can best be described as versatile, functional art although she is an artist, sculptor and painter by training. Kit Kemp of Firmdale Hotels – think New York’s Whitby Hotel and London’s Ham Yard - describes Margit’s work as ‘curious, intriguing, classical yet lyrical’. All of her lighting, furniture and accessories are made to order and come in resin, some with touches of hand-blown glass.
