About the Item
An Art Deco bronze sculpture of a man gripping a rope and pulling a row boat ashore, It is a strong and unusual image, in contrast to the many images of men throwing spears or bending steel, this uses a section of the boat to create the dynamic tension between the subject and object, divided by a length of twisted cable.
The metal work lends a dappled quality to the patina and the piece is mounted on a black marble base.
