About the Item

One of a kind, wonderful work of Art glass figurative sculpture by artist Silvio Vigliaturo title “ AMAZZONE ” executed at the Berengo’s Furnace Murano Italy in 2010. The technique involved is Fusion technique invented by the artist himself. This art work glass multicolour sculpture is very harmonic for the magic combination of curvilinear forms and colours. A truly collectable piece also a very decorative one. It is signed and dated by the artist and comes with his own document of authenticity. About Silvio Vigliaturo: Born in south of Italy in 1949 he moved to the north of Italy when he was still young near Turin where he actually lives and works. Artist and glass maestro, his technique has always been characterised by a strong emphasis on research and experimentation. From the first exhibition in 1977 to the recent participation to the Italian Pavilion of the 54th Venice Biennale, Vigliaturo’s artistic journey presented itself in constant evolution. A gradual and tenacious path brought the artist to confront himself with a great variety of themes, employing different styles and media. Painting, glass, steel and terracotta are all treated at the same time as materials and ideological choices. Thanks to this melange of techniques, Vigliaturo’s experiential horizon has broadened significantly, paving the way for an original and unique vision capable of reinterpreting the themes and the expressive modes of his painting, leading him to the latest results of his work. The artist’s approach to working with glass derives from his tireless painting activity. The strong visual impact which characterises his work comes from the transparence of the colours, that generates a fascinating impression of fluidity, and the antinomy between the weight of the matter employed and the lightness of the forms that the artist is able to design in it. Vigliaturo’s works are present in several public and private collections.
