Brutalist Period Mixed Metals and Wood Couple Sculpture JN

About the Item

Amazing mixed metals and wood Brutalist Period couple sculpture. A wonderful mix of copper, brass, nails and wood that have been manipulated, cut, carved, heated, tacked, and welded into this great piece of sculpture. Incised initials on the wood base, JN. Circa 1960. Good overall condition and structurally sound and sturdy. The artist has taken license in they're purposeful use of distressing and weathering the materials. This is the art; the multilayering of surface, patina and mellowed tones of the mixed metals. There are definite influences of some African Tribal art. Approximate measurements are 3.5" deep x 12.5" wide at the base x 28.5" high.
