About the Item

Exquisite and compelling wood statue of the Virgin Mary with polychrome paint finish. Well executed, and finely carved we believe it's 19th C Continental, or possibly US in origin. Untouched condition save the gluing of the fingers on one hand, please see images. Base 19.5 W x 12" D x Total H 38 x H of Figure 31 inch.

This is an outstanding Italian 18th century carved wood polychromed sculpture of Virgin Mary. The Sculpture is hand painted with some remains of a gold gilt in few places and originated until lately in a private Villa in Tuscany (Italy).
