About the Item
Soviet Modern 'Let Us Beat Swords into Plowshares' sculpture by Soviet sculptor Evgeniy Vuchetich. Marked with the title and the artist signature on the side of the base. A large scale version of this bronze statue was donated by the Soviet Union to the United Nations in 1959. It was sculpted by Evgeniy Vuchetich to represent the human wish to end all wars by converting the weapons of death and destruction into peaceful and productive tools that are more beneficial to mankind.
Vuchetich is known for his large allegoric and heroic monuments, including 'The Motherland Calls', the largest sculpture in the world at the time.
