Seated India Gandhara bronze Buddha, 19th century, from a fifty year old Private UK collection
This beautiful Buddha sculpture will bring serenity and timeless style to your home, office, sacred space, or garden.
The Buddha is seated in Dhyana Mudra or Meditation position. The hands in the Dhyana mudra - gestures that promote the energy of meditation, deep contemplation and unity with highest energy. The Buddha has a peaceful countenance with downcast introspective eyes and a firm brow. He has a large ushnisha protuberance on top of his head symbolizing a high level of spiritual development. His earlobes are stretched long from a youth spent as a prince wearing heavy gold earrings.
