Italian 19th Century Alabaster Statue and Marble Pedestal
About the Item
A stunning and extremely high quality Italian 19th century Alabaster statue and marble pedestal. The statue is raised on a striking Italian 19th century Louis XVI st. marble pedestal displaying an octagonal base below a circular mottled border. The circular central support displays beautiful and richly carved flowers at the front and finely detailed acanthus leaves above at the mottled octagonal display tier. The statue above depicts a young girl standing on a ground like designed base where a charming finely detailed bird is eating grains off the ground. The beautiful young girl is leaning on a richly sculpted rock with an exquisite array of wonderfully executed blooming flowers. She is wearing an elegant dress falling off of her shoulder with a fine dentil design with a bow in her hair and a lovely necklace. She holds her dress up filling it will the grain that she is spilling to feed the birds.
