About the Item

This polished brass sculpture of a man in a wooden canoe is a representation of the peaceful and timeless experience of living by the Amazon River, coming and going. Placing him on any surface will turn it into a stream of river where you can just let the flow of your thoughts go with it. On that journey, we hope you will free your imagination and live, for some time, in the waters of the Amazon River. It is also a component of the Amazônia vases, a line designed to poetically transform a regular vase in a misterious and ludic lake, inhabitated by brazilian figures. --- The Amazônia Vases: These line of vases are designed to explore a poetic approach to daily objects. The main idea was to bring a playful and theatrical tweak to a vase; something that could arouse tenderness, concentration and distraction from the outter world. An imaginary world, per say. From this briefing we designed vases that also work as a lake, or an igarapé (stream). From the door made to let the water gently flood to the plate that surrounds the vase, one can fill its plate and just let the lake come to life. This lake can be inhabitated by brazilian figures commonly seen in the Amazon River, such as the manatees, waterlilies or a man in a canoe. The figures create an entirely new and proper atmosphere for the vase. They help populate the lake and add to it a strong ludical character: it can be a calming place, a misterious one, or just somewhere manatees enjoy life. It's totally up to you and your imagination on telling a diferent story everyday. *The Amazônia vases and characters are sold separately.*
