About the Item
'A Dancer' an Art Deco cold painted gilt bronze figure by Demetre Chiparus (1886-1947). An athletic dancer dressed in scantily clad theatrical costume with arms outstretched in a stylised pose with chain connected to both arms. Excellent hand finished detail and fine colour. Raised on a stepped variegated marble base and signed 'Chiparus' to base.
