Pair of antique terracotta allegorical figures French, 19th Century Female figure: Height 223cm, width 63cm, depth 42cm Male figure: Height 216cm, width 63cm, width 42cm This statuesque pair of terracotta figures depicts a man and a woman, who represent the allegories of Hunting and Fishing, respectively. The figures are classically inspired and realised in the Academic style. The man holds aloft a bird, and the woman holds a fish while a net trails in her arm. Both figures are set onto circular bases, which stand on square pedestals with steps. Both pedestals are inscribed 'M.I.T.A.L/Terrecotte/IMPRUNETA' and one figure is inscribed 'Arnaud Etienne Henry, Marseille.'
