Pair of Carved Fruitwood Elements, France, 17th Century

About

Pair of large carved wooden elements (1.90m), representing two puttis leaning against a cornice and supporting with one arm a scroll ending the whole (and forming the base of the composition). The lower part is carved with curly leaves, bunches of grapes and pomegranates. The whole was probably part of a larger set, included in a woodwork, or framing a door. Beautiful ornamental look. Accidents to the legs of puttis. Fruitwood, France, 17th century.
