About the Item
A large finely carved contemporary head looking like a modern image of a classical Greco-Roman faun, very much in the manner of the celebrated Italian Futurist Umberto Boccioni. It has the scrolled goat horns, large ears and harsh face typical of that figure in the Dionysiac entourage.
Monogrammed and dated 93 near the base.
