About

Staffordshire Pearlware figures of man and woman with a pet dog and cat, circa 1810-1820. The pair of figures each on a green square base and both wearing matching colors of dark blue jackets and she with orange skirt and he with orange trousers and waistcoat. The man is standing looking down towards a small orange coloured dog who sits on its hindquarters begging for a piece of food held in his left hand and placed near his mouth. The young woman is about to offer an orange, spotted cat, held under her right arm, a piece of food also held in her left hand. The bases are slightly different in size. Dimensions: Lady: 8 1/2 inches high x 2 1/2 inch square; Man: 8 1/4 inches x 3 inches square.
