Triumph Of Bacchus Sculpture by Giuseppe Cappè 1962 in White Porcelain and Gold
About the Item
Triumph Of Bacchus, Bacchanal In White Porcelain And Gold 1962 sculptural group by Italian artist Cappé Giuseppe (1921 - 2008) made of white and gold glazed porcelain signed and dated on the back. The Triumph of Bacchus is an extraordinary sculptural work, a bacchanal that captures the essence of a festive and celebratory moment. The sculptural group depicts a vibrant wedding procession in which Bacchus, the god of wine, and Ariadne, his bride, take center stage. Bacchus, with his imposing and perfect figure, lifts a golden chalice toward the beautiful Ariadne, while on his side a large amphora is ready to pour good wine, a symbol of conviviality and joy. Next to the bride and groom, a dancing figure playing the lyre adds a further element of liveliness to the scene, while four cherubs, rendered with incomparable sweetness and joy, complete the procession. Note the perfect anatomy; every detail is finished with an artistic precision that gives each character a unique and vital expression. The base, adorned with a golden Greek fret, lends stability to the work and enhances its beauty. The porcelains of Lombard artist Giuseppe Cappé, recognized as among the most prestigious in the Italian artistic tradition, are inspired by the great masters of Neoclassical, Neo-classical and Renaissance Neapolitan Baroque art. The artist's brilliance results in a work that expresses movement, expressiveness and incredible finesse in detail, making "The Triumph of Bacchus" a true masterpiece of inimitable beauty. The sculpture is in excellent conservation condition, with no breaks or restorations.
