19th Century Giltwood Polychrome Statue of Madonna

About the Item

19th century giltwood polychrome statue of Madonna is a superbly artistic rendition of the Mother of Jesus, uncharacteristically holding our both hands in a warm inviting gesture welcoming the devoted to the flock. Original polychrome finish retains coloration after over a century, with the gold achieving a very special patina. The flowing robes and waves of her hair are particularly notable, as well. Some professional restoration has been performed, circa 1850s Measures: 18.5 H x 12 W x 6 D.
