Mounted Amethyst Cave Mineral Specimen, One of a Kind

A cut and polished geode, in the form of a large smile Dimensions: 3 H x 5 W x 3 D in. / 7.5 H x 12.5 W x 7.5 D cm Height on custom satin nickel display stand 5 in. / 12.5 cm One of a kind Amethyst is the birthstone for February The interior has very small, violet, quartz points transitioning to areas of clear, tiny, solid crystals encased with a thin ring of pale blue chalcedony and thick ring of banded agate all enclosed by the outer brown to green stone. Amethyst has a typical crystal habit of forming a six sided prism ending in a six sided pyramid. The ancient Greeks believed amethyst prevented intoxication and carved wearable drinking goblets in the belief the cups would help maintain their sobriety. Current day belief holds that amethyst has many healing properties including aiding with calm, tranquility and grounding. All of which can contribute to sobriety.
